Aashiqui 2 is the sequel to the 1990s blockbuster, Aashiqui. The film was released on April 13, 2013. It is directed by Mohit Suri and stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles. The song also became one of the most played songs on radio, TV and digital platforms. The iTunes version of the song had more than 800,000 downloads within 24 hours of its release. Aashiqui 2 was released on 13 April 2013 in 9000+ screens in India. It received mixed reviews from critics. AnandTech gave it 3 out of 5 stars while IBNlive gave it 4 out of 5 stars. It earned around 75 million at the box office against a budget of about 70 million by due to its Box Office collection which was said to be low by industry experts. The song 'Hamne Dil Do' from the movie has more than 100,000 hits on YouTube. The video has nearly 3 million hits. After its release, Aditya Roy Kapur began promoting the film in his home state of Uttar Pradesh. Starting with a mall stage performance in Shabbirpur, UP on April 27, 2013, he then performed on various other stages in Lucknow the same week. On 14 May 2013 he performed at 'Aashiqui 2' Abrar-e-Qaidan' Eid concert held in Lucknow's Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium which was attended by over 20 crore people. The music of the film was composed by Anu Malik. The lyrics were written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Swanand Kirkire. The soundtrack includes five tracks with lyrics written by Swanand Kirkire and four instrumentals, two composed and performed by Raeth Band and the other two composed and performed by Rajat Dholakia. Shraddha Kapoor, who played the lead role of Aditya's love interest in "Aashiqui 2", was offered a role in "Vivaah" but rejected it since she felt that it would affect her career adversely. cfa1e77820
